Cambodia really does have some great and underused diving locations. There are dive sites located close to the mainland. Condor Reef and Poulo Wai  are truly world-class dive sites waiting to be explored. Besides that,  choosing to stay little longer and venture further afield is another fabulous option.

Main attractions for divers visiting Cambodia is that the dive sites are uncrowded and unexplored. These sites are mostly unmapped  and much of it is still in the early exploration stage.

It’s considered a rarity to get any stamp in your logbook from Cambodia and you might even get to name a reef!

The diving season is from October to June. The water temperature is typically a warm 27-31 degrees Celsius. Visibility typically ranges from 10-25+ metres through most of the season.

Contributing to the Community

Cambodia is now one of the countries leading the way internationally in regard to eco-tourism and PADI is all about contributing to the local community through diving and education.

There is an initiative that takes trips to local schools where the children learn about preserving the reefs and looking after the environment, in addition, having lots of fun in the water!

The development work done here has resulted in a Discover Scuba Day for 21 kids from the Friends/Mith Samlanh project. This is an NGO that deals with street kids. The Friends/Mith Samlanh project also provides training for jobs, such as, English lessons. Soon there are hopes to get the first qualified Cambodian Divemaster from this organization.

The Dive Sites

All of the dive sites are at least 1-2 hours from the mainland port of Sihanoukville in order to provide the best quality in terms of visibility available.  The majority of the dive sites are fringe reef dives and are best explored from a boat. The experience of the divers, weather and prevailing wind determine suitable dive sites.

You can rent an underwater camera for the day to preserve your memories or try an underwater jet-ski! You can opt to dive on Nitrox if you are certified and dive computers are available for daily rental if required.
